Full time Specialty Referral Practice Emergency Hospital VTS(Other) Training

Job Description

Just another slow day at the clinic? Not here.

We need an ambitious, experienced, and outgoing VTS to lead our ICU at our fast-paced, privately owned Los Angeles Hospital.

We’re different. We don’t do corporate red tape. Instead, we do pumpkin carving contests, potlucks, staff support, and innovation in our medical care and management. Does this sound like something you might like? Read on to learn about what we value.

ACCESS Specialty Animal Hospital is one of the largest, most advanced, inclusive, and progressive veterinary multi-specialty referral hospitals in Southern California. We encourage growth, innovation, and additional training (through in-house RACE-approved continuing education courses as well as a competitive conference compensation package).

ACCESS is an inclusive and innovative specialty animal hospital currently comprised of avian & exotics, emergency & critical care, cardiology, internal medicine, interventional radiology/endoscopy, nephrology & hemodialysis, neurology & neurosurgery, orthopedic/total joint replacement surgery, and soft tissue surgery. Our practice shares a facility with other independently owned and operated specialty practices allowing for direct collaboration with specialists in dentistry, dermatology, oncology, ophthalmology, and radiation oncology. We practice in a rich and rewarding environment where patient care can be optimized, and learning is continuous. This type of collaborative medicine is rare outside of a university setting.

In this position, you would be focused on the training and development of our veterinary assistants and technicians so we can provide the highest level of care for our patients. Working closely with and mentoring our current team members to encourage them to pursue advanced training such as VTS and leadership training where desired. There would be a combination of one on one coaching and mentoring as well as regional training lectures and skill labs. You would work closely with the regional operations teams and medical director to customize the individual hospital and regional training needs. We work as a close-knit team with an emphasis on providing a strong culture of teamwork and collaboration.

To provide the best care possible, we stay apprised of innovations and utilize an extensive array of cutting-edge diagnostic, therapeutic, and monitoring equipment. Some unique equipment/therapies include laser lithotripsy, Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy, Intermittent Hemodialysis, TPE, all Interventional Radiology procedures with OEC 9900 Fluoroscopy, GE MRI’s and CT’s, plus much more. We are always willing to expand in different directions and explore new therapies.

The ideal applicant would have a minimum of 5 years as a registered veterinary technician with a strong preference for VTS (Veterinary Technician Specialist).

They should exemplify our guiding principles of Quality, Integrity, Compassion, and Service. They will have strong communication skills, an energetic attitude, empathy, and enthusiasm for continual growth and learning.

We offer an excellent salary and benefits package. Travel compensation for your interview will be provided by ACCESS.
